During the festival a meticulous and very interesting exhibition was happening every afternoon at the Tower of Tsikalioti. There, we learned how to design and construct different models of ships, taken from different eras, and many integrated models, with excellent buoyancy!
The exhibition was a tribute to the long and very important naval history and tradition of Tsakonians but it also highlighted the passion of one man, Dimitri Panagiotidi, who maintains the School of Ancient and Modern Shipbuilding in Leonidio, the only of its kind in Greece.
