Mpaglamas

Baglamas or baglama (from the Turkish baglama), is plucked musical instrument, like the flute, that originates from the ancient pandoura and presents small version of bouzouki. It is used in Greek folk music and generally takes three double strings. The sound of baglama is acute. Each string is tuned an octave higher than the corresponding bouzouki. The reason baglamas has smaller dimensions is so that players could hide him easily once it was forbidden under Turkish rule and later on under dictatorship.
